Crossroads Care West Suffolk is a local charity based in Bury St Edmunds and
has been supporting family carers since 1984 .The charity is governed by a voluntary
Board of Trustees.
We cover a large area that includes most of Forest Heath, all of St Edmundsbury,
the north east of Babergh, which takes in Sudbury down to Stoke by Nayland and
all of Mid Suffolk.
Our staff are carefully selected, vetted ,highly trained and experienced . They look
after person with care needs in their own home, so the carer can take a break
and spend some time as they wish – doing things the rest of us are able to do as a matter of course such as shopping,
visiting the pub or having their hair done maybe.
Our staff build strong relationships with their clients and encourage them to do as
much for themselves as they are able by offering social stimulation both inside
and outside the home . The service is tailored to individual needs.
Our aim is to offer Carers a regular break at a time that suits them and to offer a
reliable and consistent service. We strive to provide a high quality, flexible service
to people from all age groups, disabilities or health problems, at any time of day
or night and for any duration. Many of those receiving care have severe disabilities and therefore
have complex care needs requiring consistency of care, and commitment, from our
care staff. The scheme is fortunate that many of our staff have been with us for many
years. Their commitment is critical to the success of the service.
We currently employ 40 Carer Support Workers who look after over 400 people of
all ages and disabilities so their carers can have a break for a while.
If you are interested in our service you can contact us yourself
and we will give you more information. We will visit you at home to discuss your
specific needs with you.If we are able to assist, you will be allocated your own Support Worker
who will provide you with a regular service.
